Welcome to Labelling Secrets 19

Happy New Year and welcome to the first Labelling Secrets of 2007.

As always, Label Power will be bringing you the latest and greatest product releases from around the world plus information about important labelling issues that affect your business.

Labelling Secrets 19 sees the introduction of the Primera LX400 which I predict will be the hottest selling colour printer in 2007. Never before has printing your own full colour labels been so easy or affordable!

We’ve also got another great printer the Citizen CLP621. Big on features, small on price, there’s only a limited number so hurry while stocks last.

Label Power will be on the road again this year at the major trade events. Make sure you register with us to get your free show pass.

I’m always keen to hear your comments and views on any of the articles or products we feature in our newsletters so don’t hesitate to email me james@labelpower.com.au.

Regards

James Malone

Low Cost Citizen CLP-621 Thermal Printer

<link>Citzen CLP-621It has always been Citizen’s tradition to produce unique and innovative label printers and the <link>CLP 621 is no exception. Even though the <link>CLP 621 is aimed at the entry level and desktop printer environment, it is packed full of features and options usually only found on high performance machines. However, in a world where price is the key to so much, Citizen have used their skills in precision manufacturing to produce a high performance printer that the bank manager will also like.

Metal mechanism for reliability

Another tradition for Citizen has been its “easy-loading” mechanisms. Our engineers have developed a newer and even simpler loading system. The mechanism uses an all-metal construction for the clamshell to make sure the printer is reliable and precise. The printhead can be raised to the vertical position for easy cleaning and servicing and the cleverly designed media arm includes an adjustable media sensor.

Easy-to-use mechanism

The colour-coded operator levers within the printer are designed to make set up easy, quick and efficient and the printer can be configured easily by the Vue-Print menu system developed by Citizen for other printers in its range.

Internal PSU

Many other machines available on the market have an external power supply which can be kicked or damaged or even simply unplugged by mistake. The <link>CLP 621 doesn’t compromise here either with a high performance integrated internal power supply for hassle-free printing and reliability.

Standard Connectivity: Parallel, Serial and USB

  • Parallel IEEE1284 as standard
  • RS232C serial as standard up to 115,000 bps
  • USB as standard

The Ethernet and WiFi boards can be installed in minutes without removing any covers. As they are internal options, there is no concern that they can get broken or damaged and they do not increase the printer’s footprint either.

Fine Food Australia 2006

Fine Food AustraliaFine Food, Australia’s #1 international food, wine and equipment exhibition, was staged in Melbourne at the Exhibition Centre and was “the most successful ever” according to Andrew Bilton, Label Power’s General Manager.

“Fine Food 2006 has definitely our best show to date,” said Andrew. “There were more visitors, more serious buyers and of course the Official Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition which has been a major hit with everyone”.

The 2006 show was huge - even bigger than Sydney last year – and was one of the first trade shows to occupy the entire 30,000 sq metres of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Label Power and equipment partner Packleader attracted some 400 visitors to the stand providing demonstrations of their range of fully automated label applicator equipment.

Of particular interest to some of the smaller food producers and wineries was the entry level ‘ELF’ applicators. The ELF-20 Top labeller offers end users a simple-to-use, fast, accurate alternative to hand labelling whilst the ELF-50 Wrap around labeller provides the same benefits labelling cylindrical containers.

For those requiring faster throughput and great flexibility, the PL and PRO range of applicators boast Front/back, top/bottom combinations, fully adjustable labelling heads and conveyors, one touch display screens and a whole host of labour saving features.

With a unit to suit most applications, Label Power and Packleader are bringing affordable solutions for all industries so give Andrew or James a call and automate TODAY!
