Frequently asked questions

Is the Bluebird S20 a barcode scanner or a mobile phone?

The S20 is an enterprise mobile computer. It combines Android applications and 5G communication with a dedicated industrial 1D/2D barcode scan engine, physical scan buttons and replaceable battery.

Does the Bluebird S20 support 5G?

Yes. Applicable WWAN models support 5G NR Sub-6 as well as 4G, 3G and 2G networks. The exact bands depend on the regional sub-model.

Does the S20 support Australian mobile networks?

The Rest-of-World version lists several frequency bands used in Australia, including selected low-band and mid-band 5G frequencies. Exact carrier certification and compatibility should be confirmed for the supplied WWAN SKU.

Can the Bluebird S20 scan QR codes?

Yes. Its integrated enterprise 1D/2D scan-engine options support common two-dimensional barcode formats, including QR Code and Data Matrix.

Which scanner comes standard?

Bluebird lists the SE4710 1D/2D scan engine as the default scanning configuration. Other scan engines, including the SE55 advanced-range scanner, are optional.

Can it scan barcodes from warehouse racking?

The standard SE4710 is intended for normal handheld scanning distances. For longer-range warehouse scanning, choose an S20 configured with the optional SE55 advanced-range scan engine.
