The TSC TH240T is a 203 dpi desktop thermal label printer developed for organisations that need reliable barcode, shipping, inventory and product-label printing without moving to a larger industrial printer.

The 203 dpi TH240T is well suited to general barcode, logistics, product and inventory labels. Applications requiring very small text, compact two-dimensional barcodes or finer graphics should be assessed for the separate 300 dpi TH340T model.

The printer uses transmissive gap sensing and an adjustable reflective black-mark sensor. It also includes ribbon-end and printhead-open sensors.

Media performance can depend on label construction, liner, perforations, adhesive, thickness and environmental conditions. Testing is recommended for unusual, transparent, very small or specialised label materials.

The TSC TH240T supports both long desktop ribbons and smaller half-inch-core ribbons.

Wax, wax-resin or resin ribbon selection should be matched to the label face material and the required resistance to abrasion, chemicals, heat, moisture and outdoor exposure.

The TH240T includes a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen with a 480 × 320-pixel display. The printer also includes dedicated power, feed, pause and reprint controls.

The display provides access to printer settings and status information, helping operators identify media, ribbon and print configuration issues without relying entirely on a connected computer.

TSC also incorporates self-diagnostic and maintenance features, including printhead monitoring, ribbon-low warning and toolless replacement of key service components.

The TH240T uses the TSPL-EZD printer language and is compatible with common EPL, ZPL, ZPL II and DPL printing environments.

No. Model TH240-A001-0004 includes USB, RS-232 serial, Ethernet and USB Host connectivity. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth require a compatible optional module.

Can the TH240T print both direct-thermal and thermal-transfer labels?

Yes. It can print direct-thermal labels without a ribbon or use a thermal-transfer ribbon for improved durability and a wider choice of label materials.

Can the TH240T print standard 100 × 150 mm shipping labels?

Yes. The printer supports media up to 120 mm wide and has a maximum print width of 108 mm, making it suitable for common 100 × 150 mm freight and shipping labels.

Does the TH240T use 300 metre ribbons?

Yes. It supports 300 metre ribbons on a 1-inch core and 110 metre ribbons on a 0.5-inch core. Compatible ribbons must be ink-coated outside and between 40 mm and 110 mm wide.

Is a 300 dpi version available?

Yes. The 300 dpi version is the separate TSC TH340T model. The resolution is determined by the printer model and is not changed through a driver setting.

Can a cutter or peel-off module be added?

Yes. Compatible guillotine-cutter and peel-off modules are available separately. Confirm the correct part number and installation requirements before ordering.

Can a standard TH240T be upgraded for RFID printing?

Compatible external UHF RFID tear-off and cutter modules are available for selected TH240 configurations. Built-in RFID is a factory configuration. RFID media and module compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.

What label software can be used with the TH240T?
