When Pepe Saya approached Label Power about creating double-sided bottle neck collars for their new milk range, the brief came with a few important challenges.
|
The collars needed to look great, fit the bottles correctly and, just as importantly, be quick and easy to assemble so they could be added to the final production line without slowing things down.
|
The Label Power team developed and tested several prototypes in-house, experimenting with different shapes, materials and colours to find the right balance between presentation, strength and usability.
|
One of the key features of the final design was a specially developed “D” locking system, which helps secure the collar around the bottle neck and reduces the chance of it coming loose once applied.
|
Material selection also played an important role. The board needed to be strong enough to support the locking system, while still having enough flexibility to sit neatly against the bottle. The final solution used Zenith Board 215gsm – 305um, providing the balance required for both performance and presentation.
|
The result was a practical, cost-effective neck collar that could be incorporated into Pepe Saya’s production process while complementing the presentation of their new milk range.
|
And there was another exciting outcome for the project - Label Power has been named a finalist in the 2026 FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards, in the UV Flexo on Paper or Board category, for the Pepe Saya neck collars.
|
It’s a great example of how the right combination of design, material selection and in-house testing can turn an initial concept into a production-ready solution.
